Southwest DeKalb Looking For 3peat

The Southwest DeKalb Panthers kept alive their dreams of a third consecutive state championship Wednesday, but not before a few tense moments at the end of their Class AAAA semifinal against Forest Park at Gwinnett Arena.
Leading by 14 points with about two minutes to play, Southwest DeKalb watched Forest Park rally to within two points with 17.4 seconds remaining before Kayla Lewis and Chyna Miley made two free throws each to secure the 61-55 victory.
The victory puts Southwest DeKalb (26-4) in the championship game at 3 p.m. Friday against Northwest Whitfield, which beat Dutchtown in the first game Wednesday.
