I’m losing count on how many times Mr. Favre has been unsure about his playing status. Here is what we know thus far…

Brett Favre is coming back to play in 2010 for what he says will be THE FINAL YEAR of his storied career.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, or are new to football, here’s the situation…

We have this drama circle that kicks up every season where this guy named Brett Favre puts on this little dramatic play about  if he wants to play again or not.

Well, the Minnesota Vikings are on year 2 of this ridiculous charade.

Here’s the news: It’s all planned.

If you seriously think this is some legit “Should I, should I not” situation, you need your head checked.

Favre knows when he wants to be in camp, as does the team, as does Coach Brad Childress, and the Vikings Ownership.

What plays out on ESPN each season is for the all-mighty ratings and viewer share.

For the ladies who watch The Hills, or the guys who say they don’t but really do, you know what I’m talking about here. This whole twisted relationship is for the cameras only.

But why the charade? Why the theatrics?

Favre hates mini-camp.

Furthermore, Favre hates everything to do with the pre-season. But, the coaches and ownership can’t appear to cave to a particular player, so they tell Brett when he needs to be ready by, and that’s that. At that point, it’s “understood” that Favre will publicly say he’s unsure about coming back, and blah blah blah…

I know it’s not as interesting as what ESPN or MTV spins, but at some point, we all just need to see the truth:

Heidi never liked Spencer.

Kristin and Brody were never in a relationship.

Brett Favre always knew he was coming back.

BLAMMO! It’s a shock to the system right? In the end, the Vikings can’t completely say “Screw the culture of the NFL, because we have our own rules”, so they just let the player do it for them.

And what do the Vikings get in return? A dead-set Hall of Fame QB who will throw them right out of the playoffs.

Come sit outside and watch Argentina vs. Nigeria at 10 am, followed by the US vs. England at 2:30pm! The event runs until 7:00pm and Sweetwater Brewery will be pouring it up in the names of charity and soccer! There will be lots of great activities for the kids, so make plans and be about it!

The Orlando Magic crushed the Atlanta Hawks last night and if Game 1 was any indication of how the Hawks are going to play to quote from Coming to America “Who’s Next”?

Atlanta native Dwight Howard scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a lopsided 114-71 win over Atlanta.

After an 8 day layoff the Magic looked to be well rested going up by as many as 46 during the game.

Joe Johnson, Josh Smith, and Zaza Pachulia combined for 36 points in the loss.

Game 2 in the best-of-seven series is Thursday in Orlando.

The Braves Hit 3 HR’s To Complete Comeback Victory

Jason Heyward hit a homer with two outs in the ninth inning to tie the game and Nate McLouth led off the 10th with another home run to lead the Braves’ to a 4-3 comeback victory over the Philadelphia Phillies last night.

Tim Hudson takes the mound when the series continues tonight. First pitch set for 7:05 p.m.

The Bucks Have No Luck At The Highlight Factory

Joe Johnson and Josh Smith combined for 48 points to lead the Atlanta Hawks to a 96-86 Game 2 win over the Milwaukee Bucks at Philips Arena.

Johnson took control in the fourth quarter to finish with a game high 27-points, Smith finished one assist shy of a triple-double .

They’ll head to Milwaukee on Saturday night with a 2-0 lead, the first time they’ve won the first two in a best-of-seven series since 1970.

CHICAGO (AP) – The Boston Celtics can forget about catching Atlanta for the third seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Derrick Rose scored a career-high 39 points, Kirk Hinrich added a season-high 30 and the Chicago Bulls beat Boston 101-93 on Tuesday night.

The eighth-place Bulls lead Toronto by a game in the Eastern Conference and will make the playoffs as long as they finish with a better record, meaning they need a win at Charlotte on Wednesday or a loss by the Raptors to New York.

Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 28 points, and Ray Allen scored 25. Kevin Garnett added 14 points and nine rebounds after sitting out the previous game to rest.

The Hawks wrap up the regular season tonight versus the Cleveland Cavs tonight  8pm @ Philips Arena.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) – Phil Mickelson is wearing the green jacket again. He earned his third Masters championship by firing a final-round 5-under 67 to capture the first major of the season by three shots over Britain’s Lee Westwood. Anthony Kim finished third, four shots behind Mickelson.

Tiger Woods says he’s “going to take a little time off” from golf, and “kind of re-evaluate things.” He finished in a fourth-place tie at the Masters yesterday, his first tournament following a five-month layoff to deal with his personal troubles.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Evander Holyfield stopped Frans Botha in the eighth round to win the WBF heavyweight title Saturday night.

The 47-year-old Holyfield (43-10-2) knocked the 41-year old Botha (47-5-3) down with 2:36 left in the round with a right to the left chin.

Botha beat referee Russell Mora’s count, but with 2:05 left Mora stopped the fight with Botha backed into a corner. It was Holyfield’s 28th career knockout.

Two judges had Botha ahead 67-66 when the fight was stopped. The other judge had it Holyfield 69-64.

There were only about 2,200 people in the stands at the Thomas & Mack Center, most rooting for Holyfield.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) – First round play of the Masters is set to begin on Thursday and so far this week there has been little attention on anything except Tiger Woods.

Woods does not tee off until 1:42 p.m. with K.J. Choi and Matt Kuchar. He should be making the turn when ESPN’s live coverage begins. It’s the first time Woods will have played a competitive round before a gallery since being caught cheating on his wife five months ago.

Two-time Masters champion Phil Mickelson goes off at 10:35 a.m. Ernie Els, the only player with multiple PGA Tour victories this year, is set to tee off at 10:13 a.m.
